Welcome to El Paso County Medical Society

El Paso County Medical Society was formally organized in October 1898. The first officers were F.W. Gallagher, president; M.O. Wright, vice president; J.A. Rawlings, secretary, and Howard Thompson, treasurer. There were only 16 members listed. Today, the El Paso County Medical Society has 500 active members and 85 retired members. Not including the Residents and Medical Students which this count changes every year.

The El Paso County Medical Society emphasizes the union of physician into an organization, secures and enacts enforcement of legislation and fosters good relations in the community. The message of EPCMS is to “unite under the highest quality of care to our patients”.

The El Paso County Medical Society serves as an advocate for the local physicians in issues such as legislative and working with local authorities to assure that physicians are recognized in these efforts and have a voice. The local physicians are truly interested in the local community and the need to assure quality medical outcomes for their patients.
